Houston Run for the Fallen 2009
Houston Run for the Fallen 2009 Over 600 people came out to run in honor of those who have fought and fallen under the American flag. Congressman Kevin Brady came out to speak as well as Gold Star Mom Crystal Merillat. The Honor Guard from Randolph AFB came out to present the colors and Montgomery County Sheriff's Department Chaplain Mike Evans prayed for our event and Gold Star families.
There were several Gold Star Moms as well as Gold Star families at the run. The Patriot Guard Riders of Texas rode in on their bikes. We had veterans from all branches out to support and honor their fallen brothers and sisters. There were participants walking with canes, being pushed in wheelchairs, military members running in formation, and kids skipping around the track - all to honor those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
